Tidal training Bretagne & Channel Islands
Beyond its breathtaking landscapes, this region offers tidal differences of around 10–12 meters, generating currents of up to 10 knots. Want to learn how to plan crossings and navigate in areas where the sea is anything but static? Set sail for a true sailing adventure!
On this fascinating yet navigationally challenging voyage, you will practice hands-on navigation in tidal waters under the guidance of an experienced Czech/Slovak skipper. With tidal differences reaching up to 12 meters, you will explore a coastline and islands vastly different from the familiar Mediterranean. The route takes you from Saint Malo along the northern coast of Brittany and to the islands of Guernsey and Jersey. This region is a land of rocky cliffs, stone villages tucked away in sandy bays, and home to the largest tides in Europe. Everyone on board will participate in sailing and navigation according to their skills and abilities.
The voyage consists of longer passages (max. 40–50 miles), short crossings between ports, and sightseeing stops. It is suitable for both experienced and less experienced sailors—bring your partners, friends, and fellow adventurers!
